Fabric plays a very important role in determining the costs, printing technique and durability after several washing.
The most common fabrics sold in the market are made from polyester, 100% cotton and cotton/polyester blends. In addition to the 3 common types of shirt fabrics, there are manufacturers who make fabrics from organically grown cotton and natural dyes; the objective is to protect of saving the environment but it is more costly than common varieties.
Cotton
There are 2 major varieties of cotton fabric: combed cotton and carded cotton. On touch, you can note that combed cotton fabrics are softer to touch than carded ones. Combed cotton are twisting smooth, even and thinner fibers together to produce a smooth thread. While carded cotton is produced through a mixture of short, thick and ragged cotton fibers. The coarse feel of carded cotton makes the fabric's quality inferior than combed cotton.

Cotton/Polyester Blends
While 100% cotton fabrics are very common, many manufacturers blend the cotton with polyester to make it stain and stain resistant, breathable, and less prone to shrinkage. In general, more polyester content produces greater breathability, stain and wrinkle resistance. Blended tshirts also tend to be a bit cheaper than 100% cotton.

Microfiber
Due to microfiber's high absorption quality and moisture wicking ability, this fabric has become a popular choice for performance apparel and sports wear. It is fast replacing cotton fabrics in production of these specialty clothings. As microfiber wicks moisture away from the body, it keeps the wearer cool and dry. As such, it has come to occupy an important position in the category of moisture management fabrics. As this fabric is liquid and stain resistant, it is ideal for office wear even in rainy season.
